Court suspends cancellation of firm’s permits by defunct DPR | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

Justice P.O Lifu of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has suspended the purported cancellation of NOV Oilfield Solution Limited and NOV Oil and Gas Services Limited’s permits by the defunct Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR). The judge also restrained the Ministry and the Minister of Petroleum Resources from disturbing the operations of NOV Oil on the basis of the purported cancellation of its permits by the defunct Department of Petroleum Resources. On November 15, 2021, none of the three respondents appeared in court to show cause and there was no legal representation. The judge, thereafter, granted all the prayers of NOV Oil and reiterated the fact that the respondents were all given ample opportunity to show up in court to counter NOV’s motion but chose or elected to ignore or disregard the said directive of the Court. All the respondents namely, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Minister of Petroleum Resources and the Attorney General of the Federation have, however, been served with all the Enrolled Order of the Court.
